NMP Recovery System: Transform Waste into Valuable Resources

Revolutionize NMP Waste Management: Advanced Recovery Systems for Cost Savings and Profitability

NMP Recovery System

About NMP and Recycling

NMP

NMP can be recycled by HongYi NMP recovery system, which reduces the generation of waste, lowers the risk of environmental pollution, and also contributes to the sustainable use of resources. Therefore, the NMP recycling system is an important environmental protection and sustainability solution that helps to reduce the dependence on new resources and lower the environmental burden.

N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP), also known as 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (1-MP), is a versatile solvent widely used in the lithium-ion battery industry for electrode processing. While it boasts desirable properties like high boiling point and solvency, improper NMP waste management poses a significant threat. Discarded NMP can contaminate soil and water, harming ecosystems. Unfortunately, conventional distillation for NMP recycling has limitations. These methods often require high energy input, struggle with complete NMP separation, and may even generate hazardous byproducts.

At HongYi, we’re experts in NMP reclamation and reuse.  We recognize the drawbacks of traditional approaches and are constantly innovating and refining our NMP recovery systems.  Our advanced technology offers a powerful alternative to conventional distillation, promoting a more sustainable solution for NMP waste management.  Explore our NMP recycling equipment and discover how we can help your business achieve its environmental goals.

Recovery Reusing a Valuable NMP Solvent

NMP recovery utilizes distillation technology to efficiently separate and recover NMP solvent from waste streams. Let’s break down the process:

  • Collection: First, safely collect and store waste NMP in suitable containers for processing.

  • Heating and Distillation: The core step involves heating the waste NMP above its boiling point (typically exceeding 200°C) but below its decomposition temperature. To facilitate this, our systems feature a built-in liquid ring vacuum pump. This pump reduces the boiling point, causing the NMP to evaporate and rise as a gas within the distillation equipment.

  • Condensation and Recovery: The evaporated NMP gas travels to a cooler section where it condenses back into liquid form. This clean NMP is then collected and stored in containers, effectively separating it from contaminants in the waste.

  • Waste Residue Treatment: The remaining waste residue, un-recovered material, requires proper treatment and disposal to ensure environmental safety. Depending on the residue’s composition, this could involve incineration, chemical treatment, or other approved methods.

  • Storage and Reuse: Finally, the recovered NMP can be stored in appropriate containers for future use in new production processes, saving costs and resources.

It’s important to remember that NMP recycling processes might differ based on the specific equipment and technology used. Additionally, the entire process must comply with environmental regulations and safety standards to ensure legal and responsible waste management practices.
